WELCOME TO THE DIOCESE OF BIJNOR

 

The Ecclesiastical unit of Bijnor was created as an apostolic exarchate in 1972. The territory of the Dioces was culled out from the Diocese of Meerut. Msgr. Gratian Mundadan CMI was appointed its first apostolic exarch. On February 26, 1977 Bijnor was raised to the status of eparchy and Msgr. Gratian Mundadan CMI was appointed its first Bishop. Diocese of Bijnor consists of the district of Bijnor (excluding Dhampur sub-divison) in U.P. and Pauri, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarakashi and part of Haridwar districts of Uttarakhand.
